About Me

Pesi Unwalla Photography

I have been a Photography enthusiast and Photo-Geek for over 45 years and got my first camera at the age of 12. It was a little kids’ box camera with a 12-shot film roll and a bulb flash that burnt out the bulb with each exposure.

Then when I turned 19, I got my first decent camera – an Olympus OM-1 – a fully manual camera with a fast 50 mm. f1.4 lens that I used non-stop until I graduated to an OM-4 with a 24 mm Zuiko wide-angle, a 200 mm tele and a 75-100 zoom (all Zuiko lenses since I was told that Zuiko manufactured the best glass in the business). These OM cams were really light-weight and I spent many happy years photographing boats, people, landscapes and even macro shots (using a set of ‘extension tubes’ that fit my lenses).

Even though I had a medical background (as a consulting radiologist) I began my journey in traditional photography using film (Tri-X for Black and White and Kodachrome for slides) manually processing black and white film and prints in my own clinic darkroom, using a regular Bowen enlarger with a Zeiss lens, to create large 12X15 prints, which I framed for myself and still grace my walls to this day.

Then about 15 years ago I switched to digital photography still sticking with Olympus, using an E300 and later the E620, using Adobe Photoshop for processing my images. However, I have lately switched to Affinity Plus, which allows for a one-time purchase rather than being ripped off by Adobe’s so-called ‘subscription’ model.

I have never exhibited my images since I have always been unsure of their  ‘exhibit-worthiness’, but here they are now.
